Understanding Territory, Strengthening Decisions

Community Spatial Futures (CSF) is a solo spatial mentoring practice founded by Richard. CSF helps people understand their territory and make confident decisions about water, land, and energy.
Through simple tools, structured conversations, and long‑term support, I help households, community groups, and local actors explore practical, low‑risk ways to improve daily life.

Spatial Mentoring for Everyday Decisions

Through simple tools and structured conversations, we explore how your environment works and identify practical, low‑risk steps that fit your context.

I believe people make better decisions when they understand their environment clearly and have the space to think things through at their own pace. My work focuses on building clarity, confidence, and grounded next steps that fit real‑world conditions.

Household Water‑Efficient Food Production Support

I help households and community groups explore small, water‑efficient ways to grow food — including hydroponics, aquaponics, and other low‑risk methods.

We look at:

  • What’s possible in your space
  • How water moves and is used
  • Simple experiments you can try
  • How to build confidence before scaling anything

The aim is to support practical, affordable improvements that grow over time.

Long-Term Spatial Mentoring

I work alongside local actors who want steady support as they navigate the everyday decisions that shape their territory.

We build understanding together, around water, land, energy and resilience, through simple frameworks and regular conversations that fit real‑world conditions.

This isn’t consultancy. It’s a shared process of learning, clarity, and confidence over time.

Animal Enrichment, Wellbeing, Agency & Coexistence Systems

Many households rely on animals for mobility, income, or daily life.

I support people to improve the wellbeing of their animals through simple enrichment ideas, better shelter and water placement, and small adjustments that make a meaningful difference.

This work is grounded in observation, conversation, and practical steps, not expensive interventions.

Landscape‑Scale Animal Agency & Coexistence Programmes

Alongside household animal wellbeing, Community Spatial Futures partners with conservation organisations and research teams to design landscape‑based systems that support animal agency, reduce stress, and enable safer coexistence.

This work includes:
•     spatial interface design
•     behavioural architecture
•     community co‑design
•     ecological integration
•     long‑term mentoring and evaluation

Programmes are tailored to the landscape and developed collaboratively with local actors.

Community Spatial Futures is a solo spatial mentoring practice based in London.
